Meat Pies

On Monday my adoptive family invited me to take part in one of their family traditions...

Mincemeat Monday!

Don't worry, no humans were harmed in the making of the pies.

I don't know if it always falls on a Monday, but each year before Thanksgiving they all get together (and there are a lot of them) and make mincemeat pies. 

I have always thought eating fruity meat for dessert was disgusting, but alas, I have been proven wrong. 

They didn't share the secret of the secret family recipe with me, so I won't be making it any time soon.  It was so much fun to spend time with them and try something new!
